À minuta

À minuta

The title of this composition of works, has its origins in the well-known expression “à la minuta”, which is used to define the type of photograph that old times street photographers captured in the hope of saving a beautiful moment for those who passed by.
This term also suggests a certain notion of instantaneity, of magical speed in obtaining the image. However, this enchanted speed can be transported into today’s everyday life. The way we receive and exchange the images is overwhelmingly rapid, so much that we loose their meaning and turn them into superfluous things. The attention time we give them becomes insufficient to give us meaning.
“We are in a universe where there is more and more information and less and less sense.”
In a game between the speed with which the drawings are drawn and the challenge of a greater attention to them, caused by the same machine that distracts us, this compilation tries to incite a reflection on scale, apprehension, instantaneity, technology and meaning of the drawing as an image of a product.
